How do I log cardio in PlateStack?

Two ways. Log session is for something you already finished: pick the activity, tap a duration, add distance if you have it, and save. Live timer is for right now: start, pause, resume, and end, and the timer keeps going if you close the app.

Logging after the fact? Choose Log past session and set the date. Cardio sits in the same History tab as your lifts, so one place holds the whole week.

  1. Tap + and choose Cardio.
  2. Pick an activity: run, walk, bike, swim, and 11 more.
  3. Tap a duration or start the live timer.
  4. Add distance, check the calorie estimate, and save.

How are cardio calories estimated?

PlateStack multiplies an intensity value for the activity by your body weight and the time you spent. For a run with a distance, it uses your weight and the distance instead. If you have not logged a weight yet, it uses 75 kg and says so on screen.

Every estimate is editable. If your watch measured the session, type its number in. We would rather you keep a number you trust than one we guessed.

Can PlateStack import workouts from my watch?

Yes, through your phone’s health app. On iPhone, connect Apple Health and workouts from other apps are imported into your cardio history, with average and maximum heart rate on each session’s detail. On Android, Health Connect brings in exercise sessions with their distance and calories.

Imports reach back up to 90 days, skip duplicates, and do not re-add a session you deleted. Cardio you log by hand in PlateStack can also be written to Apple Health or Health Connect, so the other apps you use see it too.

What PlateStack does not do: record GPS routes, draw maps, or show pace. Use your running app for that and let the session flow in.

How much cardio should I log?

Log what you actually do. For a reference point, CDC guidance for adults is at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week, such as brisk walking, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity like running, plus muscle-strengthening on 2 or more days.

Seeing walks, rides, and lifts in one history makes that week easy to add up. Logged cardio also counts as training for your daily score and earns 35 XP: PlateStack rewards the record, not the pace. Pair it with the strength log and the weekly review.

Common questions.

Which cardio activities can I log?
Run, walk, bike, hike, swim, row, elliptical, stair, HIIT, yoga, dance, jump rope, Pilates, and boxing, plus Other for anything else.
Does PlateStack track my route with GPS?
No. PlateStack does not record GPS routes or maps. Track the route in your watch or running app, and PlateStack can import the finished workout from Apple Health or Health Connect.
How are cardio calories estimated?
From the activity, the duration, and your body weight, using standard activity intensity values. With no weight on file it assumes 75 kg until you add one. The number is an estimate, and you can change it before saving.
Will my Apple Watch or Android workouts show up?
Yes, if you connect Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Imported workouts land in your cardio history, up to 90 days back, without duplicates.
Is cardio logging free?
Yes. Every activity type, the live timer, quick entry, and health app imports are free on Starter.
