Track food and workouts in one app.

PlateStack keeps calories, macros, strength sets, and cardio in one record on iPhone and Android, so today’s meals and today’s training sit on the same screen. The logging is free, with no ads.

Free to start on iPhone and Android. Premium is $1.99 a month or $14.99 a year, and both plans begin with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers where available. No ads. No data sales.

PlateStack Today screen showing food, workout, and water records logged for the day

One record for both.

Meals, sets, and cardio share the same day.

Why track food and workouts in one app?

Because they explain each other. A flat week in the gym reads differently when you can see the three days of low protein before it. A weight trend makes more sense next to the training that went with it.

We built PlateStack because one day of our own training was spread across four apps: food in one, lifts in another, habits in a third, bodyweight in the notes app. Nothing could see anything else, and every question meant opening all four. Now one Today screen shows what you have logged and what remains.

What can you log in PlateStack?

Everything below is on the free Starter tier. Premium adds planning and Coach on top; it does not unlock the logging itself.

Cardio log with activity types, live timer, and recent sessions
  • Food

Search, unlimited barcode scanning, quick calories, saved meals, recipes, and optional AI photo, label, and voice estimates.

  • Strength

Sets, reps, weight, and RIR, with warmup, working, and drop sets, supersets, a rest timer, a plate calculator, and automatic PRs.

  • Cardio

Fourteen activity types plus Other, a live timer, and quick entry for a session you already finished.

  • Body and routines

Weight, body fat, measurements, progress photos, water, a fasting timer, and Daily Wins that fill from your logs.

How does the workout tracker work?

Pick a routine from the built-in library or one of your own templates. Each exercise shows what you lifted last time, so the next set starts from the last one instead of a blank form. PRs are detected as you log, and the rest timer keeps running on the Lock Screen through Live Activities on iPhone.

Cardio sits in the same history as your lifts, so a week of training reads as one story. If you are coming from another lifting app, import your history from Strong, Hevy, or a CSV file and keep your records intact.

Does it connect to my watch and health apps?

On iPhone, the Apple Watch app shows calories and protein left, logs a saved food in one tap, and lets you log sets from your wrist. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets keep today in view. Apple Health can bring in supported records such as cardio from other apps.

On Android, Health Connect currently reads weight, body fat, and sleep, and can write your logged workouts, weight, and food back. Every health connection is optional and only requested when you choose to connect.

What does Premium add to food and training?

PlateStack Coach reads both halves of the record, so it can answer a question about training with your food in view, and it names the records it used. Starter includes three Coach messages a month; Premium includes Coach, AI logging, meal plan drafts, and workout plan drafts without spending credits. Premium is $1.99 a month or $14.99 a year, with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers where available.

If a single specialist suits you better, that is fine too. Our comparison page is honest about where they still win.
