Why look for a Hevy alternative?
Hevy describes itself as a free workout tracker for iOS and Android, with a social feed, Apple Watch and Wear OS apps, and a web app. It is a strong dedicated lifting log.
People look elsewhere when they want their meals and macros in the same app as their sets, so one day is one record.
What does PlateStack do differently?
The lifting log is free and the food log sits next to it. A session and the protein you ate around it are on one timeline, with cardio, body weight, and habits.
-
Last time beside every set
Prior weights and reps are on screen before your first set.
-
Rest timer and PRs
The timer runs on the Lock Screen on iPhone, and PRs are detected as you log.
-
Food and macros
Search and barcode scanning are free, and protein left shows on the Apple Watch and widgets on iPhone.
When is Hevy still the better fit?
There are good reasons to stay.
-
You want a social feed
Hevy lets you follow other athletes. PlateStack has squads with people you know, not a public feed.
-
You use a computer
Hevy has a web app. PlateStack has none.
-
You wear a Wear OS watch
PlateStack’s watch app is for Apple Watch only.
What does PlateStack cost?
