The day, joined up.
Meals, sessions, and volume in one dated record.
Why track macros and lifts together?
A deload week, a cut, a bulk: each makes sense only next to what you ate and lifted. When the food log is in one app and the sets in another, you do the joining yourself, usually in your head.
PlateStack keeps both on one timeline. Open a day and see the meals, the session, and the volume side by side.
How do I set up macros?
Enter protein, carbs, and fat in grams, or switch to percent and PlateStack works out the grams from your calorie target. Count net carbs if you prefer. Protein left is on the Today screen, and on iPhone on the Apple Watch and widgets.
What does the lifting side log?
Weight, reps, and RIR on every set, warmup, working, and drop sets, supersets, templates, PRs, and a rest timer, all free. Last session’s numbers are on screen before your first set.
Text version
A full-body workout is started from the Train tab. A dumbbell bench press set is logged with its weight, reps, and RIR. The rest timer then starts and counts down on screen.
Can Coach read both?
Yes. PlateStack Coach answers from your own food and training records and names what it used. “Am I getting enough protein on training days?” is a question it can look at. Starter includes 3 Coach messages a month. It does not give medical or dietary advice.
| Feature | Starter ($0) | Premium |

Lifter questions.
- Can I track macros and lifts in the same app?
- Yes. Food, strength sets, cardio, body weight, and habits share one dated record, so you can see what you ate around a heavy session.
- How much protein should a lifter eat?
- PlateStack does not prescribe an amount. A calculator can suggest starting targets, which you review and edit. For a personal recommendation, ask a doctor or registered dietitian.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Macro tracking and the whole lifting log are on Starter, which is free forever, with no ads.
- Will it tell me to hit my macros?
- It shows you the numbers and counts what you log. Reaching a calorie or protein target earns no XP, so a day you miss still gets logged.
- Does it work with my watch?
- On iPhone, the Apple Watch rings and widgets show calories and protein left, and you can log sets from the wrist. Android has Health Connect for importing workouts.
